On Monday, August 19th, 2013, a major ivory dealer was arrested in Lambaréné, confirming the will of Gabon to fight against this scourge. The dealer in question is ZENG ABENE Jean Renee, aka “Zico” a municipal councilor in Lambarené! His wife is also concerned but has not yet been arrested, unlike his son. This is a family affair, well established as “Zico” and his accomplices organize the ivory trade throughout the country, according to sources familiar with the matter.
