April was a busy month for Conservation Justice. From the big ivory seizure at the Mvengué airport to the arrest of Kévazingo traffickers in Oyem, our teams across Gabon didn’t stop working. Result, ABDOU DANKASSOUA, a notorious ivory dealer Gabon was sentenced to six months in jail and 5 million CFA Francs. However, despite these efforts, we should still note the intensification of wildlife crimes in the Haut-Ogooué province (Southern Gabon) where repeat offenders still seem to benefit from measures of impunity. All this and more, in our newsletter.
