These missions led to the identification and engagement with\u00a0<strong>230 suspected wildlife traffickers and major poachers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>12 operations<\/strong>\u00a0were carried out as a result of the investigations conducted by AALF. These led to the arrest of 31 wildlife traffickers, along with the seizure of 48 ivory tusks weighing 183 kg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The legal department of AALF also provided legal follow-up for\u00a0<strong>4 additional operations<\/strong>\u00a0initiated by law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Water and Forests. These involved 7 suspected traffickers implicated in ivory trafficking and elephant poaching, who were arrested with 9 ivory tusks weighing 27 kg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In total, these operations led to the\u00a0<strong>seizure of 57 ivory tusks<\/strong>, with a\u00a0<strong>combined weight of 210 kg<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>22 of the 31 traffickers<\/strong>\u00a0arrested through AALF\u2019s support were sentenced to\u00a0<strong>prison terms ranging from two months to two years<\/strong>.\u00a0One individual received a suspended sentence, and the remaining\u00a0<strong>8 were either acquitted or had their cases dismissed<\/strong>. Of the 7 other individuals arrested without AALF\u2019s direct involvement, 3 were convicted for illegal ivory trade, receiving prison terms ranging from 180 to 240 days (with an average of 210 days).
