Conservation Justice is a Belgian non-profit organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and forests in Gabon while actively involving local communities.\nConservation Justice first launched a project to protect elephants and other threatened species in Gabon against poaching and wildlife trafficking.\nA second area of action focuses on combating illegal logging, with the active participation of rural communities.\nConservation Justice strengthens community rights by supporting them in social forestry. This includes assistance in managing Community Forests and monitoring the implementation of Contractual Specifications. This mechanism allows communities to benefit from Local Development Funds financed by logging companies. Conservation Justice\u2019s legal teams assist communities to ensure they effectively access these funds and that local development projects are implemented.\nConservation Justice also supports local communities in securing electric fencing to protect their agricultural fields from elephant damage.\nFinally, Conservation Justice develops environmental education programs in schools.
